What is an air handling unit?
An air handling unit (AHU) is a unit that conditions, filters and circulates air through ducts. In chiller-based HVAC, chilled water flows through the AHU coil to cool the air before it goes to the rooms.
Do I need ventilation in an air-conditioned building?
Yes. Cooling alone recirculates the same air. A fresh air system and exhaust remove stale air and odours and supply clean air, which matters in hospitals, kitchens and busy offices.
